Re: Problems with volume

I'm not on my Windows machine at the moment so I'm not exactly sure where to find it, but you need to have "full duplex" enabled for your sound card. There may be something in the "Audio Devices" section of Windows Control Panel for setting this.

Re: scribble (static?) sound in cut audio

Well we found the problem with importing to Audacity - the format is DivX audio

Regarding you video task - you will probably have trouble eliminating the voice even if you do manage to import it. The best thing would be to find a suitable piece of music, and just replace the soundtrack.

Re: scribble (static?) sound in cut audio

If it is a .wav file (Microsoft 16bit PCM), Audacity will have no problem importing it. Check that this is the format (Right Click on the file, select "Properties" and look on the "Advanced" tab.

Re: Loss of Signal with Firewire?

As with USB interfaces, Firewire interfaces do not use the Windows Mixer, but they may have a level adjustment in the Windows Control Panel. There may also be a level adjustment on the unit itself. The recording level slider in Audacity may have some effect (but may not do anything - it seems to dep...

Re: guitar sounds funny after 3 sec of recording

Also need to check that there's no "closed loop" going on in the signal chain causing a delayed feedback (for example if "Software Playthrough" is selected in Edit->Preferences->Audio I/O and this is then being re-recorded). This would sound like a gradually increasing echo could...

Re: Can't hear Playback, No waveform

This is posted on the wrong board - it should be on the board relating to which version of Audacity and the OS that you are using. Perhaps someone could move this in due course. Recording in Audacity from a tape player. For Windows and Audacity 1.2.6 BEFORE you start Audacity: Connect your tape plat...
