Re: Newbie BASIC recording
I think that Scotsmanny is just asking how to create a second audio track within a project (so that he can arrange audio clips in it). in which case: Click "Project->New Audio Track" (for a mono audio track) or Click "Project->New Stereo Track" (for a stereo audio track) If this ...

Re: stereo problems; no left audio
I infer from you user name that you're probably using an ION TT - if so try connecting the deck to a hi-fi or compact audio with the RCA plugs that are attached to the ION - and test to see if you get 1 or 2 channels. WC He's already done that (see first post) which rules out things like cartridge ...

Re: Reliability of USB audio devices
USB 1.1 wasn't designed with audio in mind, but it works well enough for a few channels at a time as long as there aren't other USB devices hogging all the resources. USB 2.0 also wasn't designed with audio in mind, but it is prone to fewer bandwidth issues than 1.1. It is perfectly possible to mak...

Re: stereo problems; no left audio
That's a shame, but if you get chance to try it on another computer, then give it a go. In the mean time: Check through the Vista page on the Audacity wiki if you've not already done so: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Windows_Vista_OS Check your USB connections and try plugging into a ...

Re: Recording - Delays/Timing Issues
Something to try... Most of the more recent Creative cards run at a native sample rate of 48 kHz - If they are made to use any other sample rate, they convert it to 48 kHz for internal processing, then back again (except for the Audigy 2 Platinum which can also run at 96 kHz). To avoid having your c...

Re: stereo problems; no left audio
I guess that all other audio on your computer is correct (both channels)?
It would be VERY useful if you could try your turntable on another computer - is that possible?

Reliability of USB audio devices
Having just read another post about an unreliable USB turntable, I was wondering to what extent reliability problems are inherent to USB audio devices. My own experience is with using a Behringer UCA202, with Windows XP SP2, on a 500 MHz Pentium II with USB 1 and both Audacity 1.2.6 and 1.3.4 Consid...

Re: Lotsa noise, unpredictable spot, USB turntable
The fact that I could buy an ION turntable, complete with tone arm, sylus, cartridge, A/D converter and USB connector, for less than I paid for my last cartrdge, suggests that perhaps they skimp a little on some of the less important details such as build quality, customer support and quality contro...
