Re: Sound Cards

I've used quite a few Creative cards over the years, and never had any clock problems. The most demanding project my first Creative card (an AWE32) had to deal with was a 25 minute composition with 18 audio tracks and about 30 midi tracks - I'm not sure if that was the limit for what the card could ...

Re: Lotsa noise, unpredictable spot, USB turntable

If the problem is with the software, then how is it that some people use ION TTUSB with Audacity and don't have problems? I'm not laying any blame here, I just want to understand why we have this erratic performance with USB turntables and Audacity 1.2. BTW silverface, Audacity is an open source pro...

Re: I have a couple of questions!

First: I want to use my winamp player into a track. As in I want to record on the fly the music thats playing in my winamp so I can then edit it. I want to do that without a mike. How can I do that? Two ways come to mind: 1) if you're on windows, set your Windows Mixer (record section) to record fr...

Re: When will Audacity support AC3 ?

It's probably a licensing issue since AC-3 is a proprietary format of Dolby Digital. For editing purposes it's much better to use a lossless format, such as wav or aiff than using a lossy compression such as AC-3, which is why both audio and video editing programs use uncompressed audio during editi...

Re: All I get is noise.

I'm not sure what happened there, but Audacity 1.2.3 is a very old version. You should update to 1.2.6 (stable) and/or 1.3.4 (beta).

Re: Sound Cards

just about everything you find there will be better than a Creative card I don't agree. I know that specs. aren't everything, but this card sounds great. Audigy 2 Platinum EX • A-D & D-A converters: 24-bit Delta-Sigma, using CS4382 chip. • MME-WDM playback: up to 24-bit at 8, 11, 16, 22, 32, 44...

Re: button display problem

Saw exactly the same problem on another PHPBB forum. Seems that this problem has occurred for a few people using particular themes. The fix for the user is to reload the page or clear the browser cache. The short term admin fix is to clear the template cache, the better fix is to update the problem ...

Re: Audacity not loading with VST enabler (Fruity Loops prob

Fruityloops, as you probably know, contains a number of VST plugins. If you have the VST enabler installed in Audacity, it will try and load all the VST plugins that it can find. Fruityloops (and many other makers of commercial software) use various kinds of "security protections" to preve...
