Re: picking up radio signals

Check that all connections are clean and tight.
Keep your setup away from other electrical devices such as radios, mobile or cordless phones, TV's etc.
Avoid having leads "coiled".
Try moving the whole setup into a different room.

Re: Recording Bass Question/Help ...

Try using the "Equaliser" effect and drop out some low-mid - you will need to play with it to get the sound right - ideally you should be lisyening on studio monitor speakers as other speakers will colour the sound in their own way.

Re: installing to ubuntu

Open up Symantic and search for Audacity (select "Name" as the type of search). You will then see Audacity listed - click on it and select it for installation, then click on "Apply". It may be a slightly out of date version that is installed, but this is an easy way to install it...

Re: HELP WITH HEADPHONE/MICROPHONE ISSUE!!!

Re: mp3 error

When Audacity is closed, you may safely delete the temp folder (it should be empty anyway). Audacity will re-create an empty temp folder when you restart the program. Old orphaned temp files can cause some strange problems, so it may be worth trying this to see if it fixes the problem. Does the mp3 ...

Re: Loss of Signal with Firewire?

Thanks for the info Kleunk, I was wondering how Alesis handled those extra two channels.

Re: Audacity hangs after stopping recording

The only other thing I can think of at the moment, is some other process or application that is tunning in the background that is upsetting Audacity. You could try going into Task Manager and shutting down any other applications that are running, then shutting down unnecessary processes and see if y...

Re: Input dropdown menu

Not a stupid question :) Use Windows Mixer to select your record input instead of Audacities drop down list. If your soundcard uses its own mixer instead of the Windows Mixer, then use that to set the recording source. That should work. (You may also need to check that the selected record and playba...
