Re: click removal
If you click on the name of the track and select "Spectrum", you will see your recording as a spectral display, rather than the standard waveform display. Clicks will appear as vertical lines in the display (you may need to zoom in a bit to see them). Once you get used to the spectrum disp...

Re: speaker recording.
You need to set the record source in the Windows Mixer (or the sound card mixer) to "Stereo Mix" (may also be called "Mix" or "What You Hear", depending on the sound card). Some laptop audio drivers have this option permanently disabled. If this is the case, have a look...

Re: Stopping/Starting recording without creating new tracks
I'd be cautious about using a large diaphragm condenser for the kick drum, it's not the kind of application that they are really designed for as the SPL is quite extreme if close mic'd, and drummers are not renowned for being the most delicate musicians. Re: How to adjust relative gain when recording in stereo?
Thanks for tip. I've used this on subsequent recordings. (Except that the dialogue box seems to offer only a fixed -3db?) You should be able to type a number in the box. Re: Suggestions for 1.3.4
I have tested and decided that 320 VBR is good enough and saves me significant disk space compared to 320 kbps CBR. So why can't I use it? It is supported by LAME. Audacity uses the "Recommended Settings" for VBR. See here for more information: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.ph...

You can use [Ctrl]+M to set labels while a track is playing (or paused), which may help you to see which region to select.

Re: recording problems
You may need to set up the latency correction.
There's a post that shows you how to do it here: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... 5535#p5562
