Re: first track OK 2nd track is one octave low

when I run my windows laptop with audacity it doesn't record an octave low but the playback has freq distortion (it's not in tune anymore) The audio clock that your on-board sound device is using is probably running at a different speed to the USB audio device. My guess would be that the on-board a...

Re: Hum/Hiss editing from wedding - HELP!!!!

Instructions for using the Audacity noise reduction tool are here: http://www.audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Noise_Removal If the noise is at quite a high level you will not be able to remove it completely without making the remaining audio sound strange (bubbly or metallic echo type artifact...

Re: Just want to find the length of a segment

To adjust the latency correction you need Audacity 1.3.4 beta (It's stable for most users, and it can be installed alongside version 1.2.x as long as it is installed in a different directory).

In v.1.3.4 the time is displayed in the "Selection Tool bar".

Re: Help w/Volume Please

The 3rd for whatever reason no matter what I did only increased in volume a very small amount. There is probably a small "click" or "thump" somewhere on the track that is much louder than the rest of the recording. "Amplify" (without clipping) will calculate the amplif...

Re: Making a sound

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but if you use v.1.3.4 there are some analysis tools ("Analyze" menu) that may show you what you want. If you've not got v.1.3.4, you can download it from the main Audacity web site - It's ok to have both 1.2.x and 1.3.x installed at the same time as lon...

Re: click removal

A "click" is obviously a very short sound, so you will have to be zoomed in fairly tight to see it. As a test, find (or make) a click in a track and zoom in on the click so that 4 seconds fits the window. With it on the colour spectrum the click should stand out clearly as a vertical red l...

Re: Transferring a project from MAC to PC

I don't know if this will work (I've not got a Mac), but try using v.1.3.4 on the PC and see if that works (You can have both 1.2.x and 1.3.x on the same machine as long as they are installed in different folders). I'd be interested to know if it works.

Re: second recording keeps gettin interupted

What is your operating system?
What audio device are you using?
Is it PCI, USB, FireWire......?
Any other information that may help to identify the problem?

Without more detailed information, all I can say is that something is wrong.
