Glad you've got it working Ironhead.
As you point out, 1.3.4 is a beta version, (and the same could possibly be said for Vista ).
1.3.4 works without problems for many people (including myself), but anyone that has stability problems with it should use the stable release (1.2.6).
Quite correct jhoski (deliberate mistake? )
I was in a bit of a hurry, scribbling down notes as I went, then copied them out in the post. The "24 dB/octave" refers to v.1.3.4, in v.1.2.6 it is just the cut-off frequency that you set.
I would guess that it would remove any unused data from the project. You should be able to tell by looking at the size of the _data folder. If a "trimmed" project is substantially smaller than the original, then it has dumped unused data.
I suspect that the The Alesis M1Active 320 will be bass light with the boost switched off. I'm guessing that that is why they have built in the bass boost. I have a pair of Tannoy Reveal monitors at home which go down to 65 Hz, and I find that they are still a little on the light side (very nice top...
At present the only way to do this is by trimming the tracks, then saving the project with a different name. You can "undo" the trim and repeat for another section as many times as you like. It's easier in Audacity 1.3.4 as this allows you to "drag select" a section of multiple t...
Version 1.2.6 and 1.3.4 (the current versions) have an "Artist" field in the ID3 tag editor. I can't guarantee that it is compatible with iTunes though.
Make sure that you have plenty of disk space for temporary files. Every time you do an edit, Audacity saves "undo" data in temporary files, so these files can rapidly grow huge, especially if you are editing a long recording such as a podcast. Also, what soundcard are you using? External U...
A mystery indeed, although my suspicions would still be with the tape deck as it's rare for them to have good speed regulation. Some even use AC motors that rely on the mains frequency for controlling motor speed and that can vary by more than 10%. Some cheaper cassette players have no speed regulat...
I've got an M-Audio 1010LT card which I use for recording. Can't you use that for playback, or are you looking for another soundcard for another computer? M-Audio have a name for making decent low cost soundcards, but I think you'll find the "M-Audio StudioPro 3" monitors rather light on ...
