Re: Exported .wav file not readable in a specific applicatio
The files that are in use at the radio station are 16 bit 44.1 kHz PCM .wav files. And what are the files that you are Exporting from Audacity? I suspect they are not the same format. Check that your project is set at 44.1 kHz before you Export and check that the "Options" in the Save dia...

Re: Original track + one track to record on
Audacity creates a new track each time you stop and start recording again (but not if you "pause" and resume). In Audacity 1.3 new tracks are still created, but the recording starts at the current position. You can also select whichever tracks you want (all except your "master" t...

Re: Serious bug - when "numsamples" is more than "1000000000
Even though Audacity stores data in little chunks it still has to keep a record of where each sample goes. If it does that in 32 bit, then it'll run out of "bits" at around 4GB per track, so I doubt that it'll be "fixed" very soon. This issue also arises with some hard disk recor...

Re: Playing in a Window
It's generally easier to work in Audacity in full screen, but check that it's not got hidden behind the task bar or something silly like that.

Re: Recording using digital input
My assumption is that the Minidisc analogue-to-digital converter will perform better than that in the soundcard - any comments? The A/D converter on my minidisc is very good and considerably better than on a budget sound card. So, how can I find the format of the output from my Minidisc player and ...

Re: Serious bug - when "numsamples" is more than "1000000000
I've heard of a problem where people can't make recordings greater than 12 hours duration - this may be the same problem, but shorter time because you have 4 tracks and probably higher sample rate and bit depth. The only work around that I know is to save your projects more often so that they do not...

Re: Recording from TASCAM US122 onto Audacity
Virtual Instruments (emulation software like Native Instruments B4 Organ), generally use ASIO, which is not supported by Audacity. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=ASIO_Audio_Interface Taking an audio out from your computer "line out" and feeding it back in via your Tascam shou...

Re: mp3 VBR < 128K in 1.3.4?
You seem to be right - It doesn't look like the developers have bothered to implement that (probably because the quality is going to be pot poor and Audacity is intended to be a high quality audio editor rather than a format converter). If you need ultra compressed mpeg's, you can use mp2, or save a...

Re: Kristal (KAE) & Audacity mixdown problem
If KAE is too limited for your needs, try "Reaper". http://www.cockos.com/reaper/ It's not free, but very reasonably priced. Of course you can still use Audacity for editing :D Concerning the original question, switching to Audacity 1.3.4 and increasing the Audio buffers may help. "Ed...
