Re: Recording using digital input

A lot of sound cards have a "native" sample rate - that is, a specific fixed sample rate for the hardware. For (most/all?) SoundBlaster Live cards the hardware runs at 48 kHz, however the standard Windows drivers allow the data to be passed to applications at various other rates. So the ha...

Somewhere on this forum there's a post that discusses this in more detail.

Re: Sound Output device problem

So where is the problem? Is there a compatibility issue with presonus? If it uses only ASIO drivers there will be a problem as Audacity does not support ASIO. I'm not sure if any other drivers are available for Macs. Also you may need to change the "quality" format. I think the Presonus i...

Re: Recording levels too low?

I'm talking about a software mixer application - it will have separate settings for record and playback. The fact that you can hear it just says that the playback level is ok, but if the record level is too low then it will record very quietly.

Re: Need of some assistance

Please try to post on the correct boards. If you posted this on the "Audacity Stable (1.2.x) / Mac OS X" board, then anyone responding would have some basic information about what you are using. By putting it on the wrong board it is likely to be ignored as no one has any idea about what p...

Re: Subtract one track from another

If the vocal track is identical on both tracks, you can use the "invert" effect on one track (in the "effects" menu) then mix the tracks together and the inverted audio will cancel out the non-inverted version. If they are not identical then you are out of luck.

Re: Guardian article on poor quality audio in Vista

Vista is continuing to provide a great boost to the popularity of Linux.

BTW you may want to add a "t" in the subject line of this topic (Vista)
