Re: Only left channel exports to MP3
Congratulations, you have discovered a bug. I thought this had been fixed in 1.3.4, but apparently not, at least not for Windows. There is an easy work around: Instead of making the track that you want to export "solo", Select the track that you want to export and use "Export Selectio...

Re: using a silence finder to split a long recording
After you have stopped the recording, click on the tracks information block, just under the track volume and pan sliders. This will select the track and you will then be able to use the Analyse functions (also the Edit functions).

Re: Microphone input to MacBook
The signal level of a microphone is very very small, whereas "Line" inputs are very much larger. If you try and record a dynamic microphone through a "line in", the recorded signal will be so small that it'll be as if there's anything recorded at all. You need to amplify the micr...

Re: I have all of the data but when I click file nothing loa
Audacity projects are not easily transportable. The .aup file references the audio data, but for it to do so successfully it needs to know the correct path to the files. If you have moved (or deleted) any of the files that the project uses, you will have problems. You may be able to move the files b...

Have a look at this section of the manual - it covers how to Export audio files, and the difference between Saving projects and Exporting audio files:

Re: Exported .wav file not readable in a specific applicatio
I've read through this topic again blue13, and you don't seem to have told us what format the exported recordings are in (the ones that won't work at the radio station). If you export as "44100 Hz WAV (Microsoft 16 bit PCM)", then that is the format the exported audio is. If the radio stat...

Re: recording with audacity & Mackie Onyx Satellite
Well, after several days of fiddling I'm still no further forward than I was. The mackie seems to only have two changeable options, sample frequency and latency. I assume these should be set to the same values in audacity and the mackie but no matter what combinations I've tried (which is pretty mu...
