Re: Label tracks doesn't list song title in multiple exports

Download and install the current stable version of Audacity (v.1.2.6). You then have the option of tracks named the same as the labels, or by numbers.

Re: Recording straight from audio output

Leave the recording device set as the actual recording device and open up the Windows mixer (double click on the speaker icon in the sys tray (near the clock). In the Windows mixer, go to the recording settings page and select "Stereo Mix" as the recording source (may be called "What ...

Re: Unable to record

Thanks for the update jaycup, it certainly looks like an issue with the XP driver for your mobo/sound chip. I noticed in one of your posts:http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?PHPSESSID=62e48b7f887729c1d17b820f1b7afb28&topic=114478.msg858383#msg858383 I ignored the greyed out options and tried to r...

Re: Tape to mp3

Try the excellent freeware media player Foobar2000 - http://www.foobar2000.org/ It looks rubbish, well minimalist anyway, and not as bad now as earlier versions, but don't be put off by that. it's a brilliant audio player and does what an audio player should - it plays audio files - just about any ...

Re: Fitting 1 hour onto a CDr

As far as I know, the "Real time" quality settings are only used if audio is being played back with a different sample rate to the actual format of the recording. For example, if you have the project rate set to 48000 Hz and have a track which is recorded at 22000 Hz, then the recorded tra...

Re: What happened to Freeverb?

This is the only information I have on Freeverb for Mac OS X: OS X instructions After obtaining the OS X VST version of Freeverb listed above, download the VST Enabler . Double-click the .dmg file to mount it, and drag the vst-bridge.so file inside the .dmg into the Plug-Ins folder inside your Audac...

Re: No sound on Audacity 1.2.6

Open up the Windows "Control Panel" in Classic view and open "Sounds and Audio Devices". Select the "Sounds" tab and check that system sound events will play. Assuming that they do, go to the "Audio" tab and see what is selected for "Sound Playback" ...

Re: echo? echo? echo?

The gate is probably not what you're looking for, actually. All that will do is remove a signal once it reaches below a certain threshold. Unless he actually wants a "gated echo" effect. It's almost impossible to remove an echo from an audio clip. True It may be possible to make several c...

Re: zero level at +0.7

We have about 16 machines in one class room. I have tested 3 or 4 of them and they all behave like that. Either they all have crap soundcards (certainly possible if it is onboard or very cheap), or the DC offset is produced by the thing that you are recording from. Cheap sound cards (including many...
