Re: Recording straight from audio output
Are you sure that it's a stereo source that you are recording? If not, just record in mono.

Re: Trouble Recording with Lexicon Lambda
Audacity does not support ASIO, so stick with the drivers that you already have (or any updated versions of them if available). It sounds like there's a problem streaming data across the USB interface in both directions at the same time. If you also have an on-board audio device, you may be able to ...

Re: SuSE Linux download "missing parameter"
I've not got SUSE installed, but Google brought up this: http://en.opensuse.org/Audacity
If that gives you v 1.3.x rather than 1.2.x, don't worry about it, a lot of Linux distros use 1.3 as it has been around quite a while and is pretty stable.

Re: Another Multitracking question...
If your card does support both... Every PCI SoundBlaster card that I've come across supports this. Usually monitoring of the input source is just a matter of making sure that it's not muted in the Creative Mixer (but this is not advisable if you are using a microphone and monitoring with speakers a...

Re: Export Multiple Files Problem
I tried with only 4 tracks, which shouldn't take more than a few minutes but after 20 minutes of waiting I got a bit bored. I was thinking more in terms of 10 seconds of audio :) Just so as to rule out "operator error" as the cause, try following this tutorial, but just use a few second o...

Re: sound level across multiple files
There's a LADSPA plugin called SC4 (Studio Compressor 4?) which is a bit more complex than the standard Audacity compressor, but a lot better. Once you've got the hang of the built in one (which is easier to use) you might like to try the SC4.
