Does it work if you export part of it as .wav?

Re: ny recommendations for a pre-amp/preamp
My best results have been with a 20 year old Sony STR-6046 integrated amplifier - I have two of them, the switches are very crackly and the lights don't work, but there's a direct out from the pre-amp that works great. I've also got a little plastic phono pre-amp which cost about $20 some years ago ...

Re: Microphone level sometimes is too low
it's possible you are right about a bad connection somewhere, but I would expect in that case the signal would cut out completely, rather than just going to a lower level? Not necessarily - condenser microphones us a bias voltage to power an internal FET, if that voltage is lost you will loose most...

Re: Recording straight from audio output
Let's back track a bit -
You were saying that you were trying to record with Audacity from SNES games using an emulator.
Is the problem specific to recording from the emulator? (When can you record in stereo and when can't you?)
Have you tried recording with other software (Microsoft Sound Recorder)?

Re: I knew it seemed too easy...
I suspect that what has happened is that the USB mic has hijacked your Windows sound system, but in Audacity you have the correct audio devices specifically selected (USB mic for recording, sound card for playback). You will need to go into the control panel : Start > Control Panel > Hardware and So...

Re: help with delay in earphones...please
thanks steve...I did everything you said and still nothing in my ears when I talk. The microphone was muted and I un-ticked it and turned it up but still nothing. There are two sections in the Windows Mixer - a Playback Mixer and a Record Mixer. To be able to record the microphone it must be select...

Re: Problem with saving projects
Using your example of a "Word" document: The Word document (.doc) is a bit like the Audacity Project (.aup file + data) The text in the Word document, is then like the audio data in the Audacity Project. If I open a Word document, say "letter-1.doc", I then do some typing and edi...

Re: Unable to record
Hooray !!!!! and congratulations jaycup. :D With all your tenacity and perseverance I am so pleased that it has finally paid off. first of all by getting the MSI Audio Mananger set- up correctly and then the Aucacity Settings and Preferences. That is absolutely right - just having a quick look back ...

Re: Problem with saving projects
Is this problem repeatable, or just a one off?
If it's repeatable, could you write down step be step what you are doing then perhaps we can replicate the fault.

Re: Microphone level sometimes is too low
Is the microphone "boost" selection in the Windows Mixer enabled?
