Install ALSA if not already installed.
Go to "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and select "ALSA default" for playback and recording devices.

You need to select the appropriate input from your mixer application (for example alsamixergui ). Exactly which control this is depends on your hardware, drivers and mixer, so you will probably have to fiddle around with it to find the correct settings.

Are you saying that a feature to copy and paste envelopes would be difficult to implement?

There are alternative drivers available on the Blue site for high or low sensitivity (not sure if this is the case for Macs, but worth checking).
