I ignore the "Normalize" tool in Audacity 1.2.6 because it is so limited compared to the "Amplify" effect. The only thing it has going for it is the ability to remove DC offset.

Re: Audacity 1.3.3-Beta (Poss. Bug) - Crash after resample.

That facility I cannot see in 1.3.3 - but I do know that the device I have (Intel 82801DB Onboard) accepts 8000hz, 11025, 22050, 44100, 48000 and 96000hz for playback and record. I know that my soundcard can do these too, but with ALSA I can only record at 48000 Hz on one input, 44100 Hz on another...

Re: Error: unclosed token

I guess I shouldn't mention "backups" :( I'm carting the thing around on a flash drive, and working off the drive. That's not really recommended. Audacity will sometimes use a temporary directory on the local machine, and may also reference audio files that are not actually in the project ...

Re: Noise Removal

I'm guessing that the unwanted noise level is really high relative to the audio that you are trying to restore. A common side effect of noise reduction is a metallic bubbling or ringing sound. The harder you push the noise reduction, the more pronounced these artifacts are. There's a few simple ways...

Re: A Little Help Please----Newb Here

I had no problem playing a track simultaneously while the top track played, therefore being able to play in sequence to the bottom track while listening to the top track. When attempting this yesterday (eventually planning to use headphones) all of a sudden I lost this feature. The first thing that...

Re: Can do ?

As far as I'm aware, this would be covered by "fair use".
But before you go out buying software - Audacity is Free!
