Re: Exporting as MP3 creates reverb/echo in recording
Was there ever any resolution on this problem? I have the same problem where my voiceover sounds undersea-ish only after exporting. It persists even after I have set the bitrate to 128. I believe I have the latest version of LAME installed as well. Can you upload a sample somewhere - as you will pr...

Re: No Playback
The last line you wrote gave me an idea: I was hoping it would :D When I saw it I was sure I had to go for ALSA:CA0106:CA0106 hw:0.0, and indeed I became sound. Excellent ! You will probably also get sound with ALSA default (unless you have a strange configuration like I do). BUT: something is rott...

Re: De-essing filters
I tried plugging in directly to the line-in port on the back of my Mac, and was able to record, but there was a fairly loud low hum that I couldn't get rid of, so I'm back to using the iMic until I can figure it out. Re: No Playback
finally: I took away the cord between my cd-rom (internal) and my soundcard, and see: I was able to record. Great stuff - I admire your tenacity :D However, I am not able to play-back the recorded sound Anyone an idea? Not so great, but at least you're getting close. What are the available options ...

Re: sonds like its under water
Wave immediately drops to -5 and flat-lines there. That should not happen - with no signal it should flat-line ot 0.0 This is almost certainly a hardware or driver problem. I never had a problem with the older version audacity on my toshiba satellite but am having all sorts of trouble with 1.2 on m...

Re: Audigy 2 ZS and Recording
I'm recording vinyl as wave, afterwards i convert it to mp3.Can the following actions change/damage the quality of the audio:- Recording at 24 bit and exporting to 16 bit- Amplifying to -0.2db By far the biggest loss in acoustic quality will be converting to mp3 - in fact, simply recording at 16 bi...

Re: Reapair VST
The built in effects for equalisation and noise removal work fine in current versions of Audacity (when used correctly).
They are not VST effects.

Re: multitrack recording
Yes. Simply record one track, then press "stop". Click the "rewind" button and start recording again - a new track is created automatically.nuevocello wrote: Can I record one instrument then save it, and then record another performer

Re: Chours Effect
I think this plug-in pack has a chorus effect:

Re: can't compile the souce on redhat 9.0
I don't know much about redhat, but could you install Audacity 1.3.4 from the Fedora rpm ?
