Re: 0.68 seconds!
I've just had a look on the PCLinuxOS forum and it seems that when they first introduced Audacity 1.3 into their repo's there was something wrong with it - There's a whole load of posts there about stability issues. The good news is that it looks like it has now been fixed, so uninstalling completel...

Re: Crashing Audacity
The next stable release of Audacity will be 1.4 and it is based on the (almost stable) current 1.3 beta version.LoZio wrote:why it should be fixed in 1.4.x since we're with 1.2 stable and 1.3 beta? Not kidding, real question.

Re: Can't select "line in" on mixer toolbar
For some reason, I cannot click to change from microphone to line. The controls in Audacity for doing this are only as a convenience for people that have audio drivers that support this feature. An increasing number of sound card drivers do not support this feature (and I guess that the feature wil...

Re: Using Software Playthrough interferes with recording
Turn of software playthrough (it is off by default) So that you can hear your records while you are recording, the ION TT is equipped with "phono" outputs that can be plugged into an amplifier (phono input), just like a conventional turntable. The ION turntable does not provide the means t...

Re: Audacity and Line 6 Gearbox
Audacity does not support ASIO drivers (which are the default and the best ones to use with Gearbox). Here is why Audacity does not support ASIO: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=ASIO_Audio_Interface So you've got Gearbox trying to use ASIO drivers, and Audacity trying to use WDM drivers...

From the 1.3.4 README.txt file:
"Note that Help is no longer built in, but accessible on the Web via links in Audacity."

Re: Crashing Audacity
6) Make the stereo track a mono track There is a known bug that causes Audacity to crash after using "Stereo to Mono" (hopefully to be fixed in v.1.4). The work around is to amplify by -6dB (minus six), then split the stereo track using "Split Stereo Track" in the drop down menu...

Re: Editing mp3 songs with Audacity
I do not know if I have 1.3x unstable audacity. This is why I made a post on the other one (don' know the difference). Click on "Help" and select "About Audacity" - that will tell you which version you have. It's a bit tricky answering your next question without knowing which ve...
