There is a "noise removal" bug in the Linux version of Audacity 1.3.3
Updating to 1.3.4 fixed it for me.

Re: Please help..! :\ A crashed Automatic Crash Recovery!
Audacity 1.2.x uses the Windows registry. You can "reset" Audacity 1.2 by removing the registry entry at HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAudacity (Back up your registry before making changes, just in case) If you are not confident about editing the registry, then try Audacity 1.3.4 as suggested b...

Re: Needing help creating dj mix cd.
Firstly - always work with WAV files. Converting to mp3 should be the very last step (and you should still keep a copy as a WAV file in case you want to do any more editing or processing. MP3 always introduces some amount of sound quality loss. If you have a number of audio files (WAV's or MP3's) on...

Re: I only hear 'dry' guitar signal when recording
Unless you have built Audacity from the source code, it does not support ASIO due to Steinberg licensing restrictions. Even if you have ASIO installed, Audacity will be using WDM audio drivers. If you can hear the guitar with the effects through your headphones/speakers, then you may be able to reco...

Re: Loud noise in the middle of recording
The Numark TTUSB is a re-badged ION turntable, and they are notorious for USB problems. The only reliable solution we have seen on this forum is to ignore the USB interface and plug the analogue out from the turntable into a phono pre-amp, then out from the phono pre-amp into a "Line-in" s...

Try using Audacity 1.3.4 - this has the additional benefit of more flexible click track generation.

Re: need help set up audio devices
As rare as it may be for me to stick up for Microsoft, it's not really fair to criticise Windows for this one. XP has a very good sound system - quick, efficient and stable. The problem is with the many horrible audio drivers and interfaces that come with many PC soundcards (especially on-board soun...

Re: Restart when not administrator
Have a look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" to see where Audacities temporary folder is.
Either give your user read/write access to this folder, or select a location for the temporary folder that all users have full access to.
