Re: Volume Gets Lower While Recording

it takes quite a bit of intentional work to change the volume. With you mentioning the "Mic Input", it suddenly made me think of the possibility of AGC :!: We had better have the make and model of the audio device, and what the Operating System is. I believe Vista has the facility for Aut...

Re: Volume Gets Lower While Recording

Still didn't help, So you get the same problem using different input sources (tape player / ipod / etc.)? but if my sound card is failing, wouldn't that show up in playback as well? Not necessarily - if you have a leaking capacitor or something like that in the analogue circuitry at the "front...

Re: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) when using NORMALIZE effect

That looks to me like a soundcard driver problem (unless anyone knows better) If you have a PCI soundcard and on-board sound (built into the motherboard) you should disable the on-board sound in BIOS. If you only have on-board sound, look on the motherboard manufacturers website for an updated driver.

Re: Funny behavior input

The Beta version doesn't give the option for input selection at all. (seems to be a bug)Where it should be I see nothing, not even a hint or grey area. The input selection feature is not supported by all audio devices - basically, if the audio driver does not support this feature, then it won't wor...

Re: snd_hda_intel and audacity

when i press record, the cursor appears, but doesn't move and when i stop the record, there's no sound recorded.i've tried various sample- and bit-rates, different I/O settings, nothing works If the cursor does not move, it is probably that the recording settings are wrong. Some hardware/driver com...

Re: Need help with mastering a track

If it is an acoustic guitar, use a better microphone and experiment with different microphone positions. If it is an electric guitar, use a decent quality microphone to record the sound from your amp rather than plugging the guitar directly into your computer (or use an amp simulator such as a Line ...
