Re: pressing Effect | Noise reduction crashes Audacity
Unfortunately it seems that the noise removal bug is not fully fixed in 1.3.4 (although it works on my machine). This is a great shame as for many people it is one of the most useful features in Audacity. You could try using the "Gnome Wave Cleaner" instead http://gwc.sourceforge.net/ To c...

Re: I can't play back what I have recorded
"Error while opening sound device. Please check the output device settings and the project sample rate." This is a rather general message that means Audacity cannot use the selected soundcard with your current settings. Go into "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and select ALSA (d...

Re: "Blending" songs (?)
mp3's always have a short period of silence at the beginning, so if each track is a separate mp3 file, there will be a short gap in the playback. The gap may be extended further if your player requires a bit of time to access the next track before it starts playing it. Some mp3 players have a featur...

Re: Can you PLEASE change the wording of your temp file warn
I do sympathise - acquiring the wisdom of reading instructions and making backups are painful lessons for us all. OK, so you now know that clicking "Yes" will delete the files. Let's say that they take your suggestion and implement it in Audacity 1.4 and you upgrade to this new version. So...

Re: Can't record while playing with USB Mic
Well I installed linux-rt and booted up with it .... and nothing has improved. Rats :( I got a very significant improvement on my machine immediately without doing anything more than installing the rt-kernel (although I did have to remove the proprietary video driver and than re-install it after th...

Re: Plug-ins question
Don't try installing hundreds of plug-ins at the same time, you'll confuse yourself and if there's a problem with just one plug-in that breaks Audacity you will have no idea which one is causing the problem. I would suggest that you uninstall Audacity completely and start again. Make sure that you r...

Re: BUG? Truncated loading of Multi-channel waves.
The new ver8 of Ubuntu comes out in just under a month. Cool - I wonder if they will include Audacity built against the latest Portaudio (with support for JACK). Is there a separate 64bit version of Audacity for Linux I must use? I don't think so, but there may be some 64 bit specific patches, so p...

Re: BUG? Truncated loading of Multi-channel waves.
I think I remember reading that someone tried that and it fixed the problem, but I may have dreamt itMugsy wrote:Any idea if I would I have the same problem with Audacity under a 64bit version of Linux?
If you have the chance, perhaps you could try it and let us know.
