Very high spec. AD/DA converter chips are available to manufacturers at ridiculously low prices these days, but there is a lot more to a high quality soundcard than just the chip. Audio CD's use "44.1 kHz 16 bit Microsoft PCM WAV" files.

You don't say what CD burning software you are using - I recommend Nero (any version, you sometimes get a light version free when you buy a CD writer and even that will do fine). I do not recommend Windows Media player.

Ideally you would connect the pre-amp out to the line in - that is, before the power amp.
