Re: 1.3.4 scrolling problem

Make sure that you do not have "Show Clipping" enabled. If it is enabled, it will slow things down A LOT.
"Show Clipping" is selected in the "View" menu.

Re: Convert OpenMGAudio (OMA - ATRAC3 plus) to .wav

Just wondering: it there more loss that way? Seems like there are several conversions going on: from analog (original sound) to the Sony format, back to analog while playing it, then from that new analog version to Audacity's format. The amount of quality loss will depend on a number of things: The...

Re: PulseAudio

Pulseaudio is good for media playback applications such as Amarok, Xine and MPlayer. Portaudio is the sound server that sits just above the kernel-level hardware drivers and can handle the data stream between application and driver, irrespective of what API the application uses. There are however a ...

Re: Each track to a single speaker or analog line output ???

So what i mean is from my pc with like 16 tracks, to a external (usb) mixer or some kind of audio equipment. from the mixer i'd like to connect 16 seperated speakers. Can you explain WHY you want to do this? On Linux there are several ways that this can be accomplished. On Windows the options are r...

Re: Convert OpenMGAudio (OMA - ATRAC3 plus) to .wav

This is a proprietary Sony format. You will probably need Sony software to do the conversion, such as the program that created the files. I don't know of any free decoders for ATRAC3 plus. You may be able to play the files on a Sony portable player, or a Sony PSP, and then record the audio with Auda...

Re: PulseAudio

I'd rather see stable support for JACK.
ALSA is likely to be available for a good while and Audacity works well with that.

Re: Reverb when recording DVD

Koz, thanks for the info, however I don't see anything in the Audacity recording configuration that might impact this issue. Maybe I just don't see it, but can you (anyone?) be more specific? I can't believe I am the first Audacity user to encounter this. Seems like it would be more pervasive than ...

Re: Edit or isolate by frequency

It seems to only equalize down to -24 dB which is barely enough... If you try Audacity 1.3.4, there is a slider for changing the dynamic range of the Eq. (right down to -120 dB) By the time you get rid of the flute, all the life will be gone from the drums (drums on AM radio?) and all the slap will...

Re: saving mp3 information

One more thing. Is there a way of changing the information that shows up when I play my mp3 in media player? I saved a couple before I realized the information was wrong. ..... John The best way is to use an MP3 tag editor - there's several free ones available on the internet. This is better than u...

Re: I can't play back what I have recorded

Trouble is walkingman, you've come in on someone else's topic where certain things have been established, but are not necessarily the same for you. Let's start this from the beginning. You have Audacity 1.3.? installed on ..... (Linux distro) You can....... You can't....... Please be as specific as ...
