Ah, that changes things - you didn't mention that before. Can you post a screenshot to show what you mean by "it looks as if the wavepatterns have been cut off with a pair of scissors" so that I can see what you mean.Reploid wrote:Funny how people can hear me just fine in skype, though.

Re: built-in EQ and filtering commands add artifacts?
could you please tell me how to cutoff above 20kHz to at least -96 dB below? It's never bothered me before. As I previously said, I've always been very happy with the sound quality in Audacity (and I can't hear -80dB / 20kHz noise). But since you have asked about it I've looked into it a bit furthe...

Re: Flat waveform, noisy sound in Ubuntu hardy heron
Good heavens :o , is that the only controls you have in Alsa mixer? My one has got dozens of sliders and switches (well a lot more than that anyway). It looks like only basic functionality is supported by your Linux soundcard driver. You could ask your sound card manufacturer for a Linux driver (lau...

Re: I also can't record sound
we;; it always happens to me try inserting your mic before opening audacity then open audacity after mic has been plugged in That sounds like it could be a good solution for some of those on-board sound devices that "auto detect" what you have plugged in. What sound card do you have? (USB...

Re: built-in EQ and filtering commands add artifacts?
Does it matter? Unless you are using instrumentation grade equipment throughout then noise introduced at -80 dB and at 20 kHz is not very significant, even if your hearing is good enough to detect it, which in the context of listening to music I very much doubt. For CD recordings it is certainly not...

Re: High Pass Filter of Nyquist Script HELP!!!
so,what board i should post the matter like this? Probably "Audio Processing" - but if you think that another board is more suitable, pick that, but just stick with one board for one topic. If you get completely the wrong board, either on of the helpful moderators will let you know, or th...
