Re: need recipie to post process a recording

If the recording is in sections (a few minutes of piano, then a few minutes of taking, then a few minutes of harmonica ....) you will probably be best splitting it into separate chunks. You could do this by setting labels to mark each section, then Export Multiple (as you would for splitting tracks ...

Re: Auditorum effect for audacity

For an "auditorium" effect, install some plug-ins (see the main the Audacity web site) and use "G-verb" or "FreeVerb". You will be able to get echoey sounds from these. Like a "studio record" is a bit like saying "I got a guitar for Christmas, how do I ge...

Re: Does anyone use the behringer uca202 sound card?

Seems that Behringer updated the UCA - mine does not have a headphone socket (the one I have was a very early model when they first brought it out). The output you should use from the 4 track is the "stereo out". As said before, the output volume from the 4 track should be set high. Cranki...

Re: Help files

I think the link in the Help menu is just a dummy (left over from when the help files were included). The easiest thing is just to make a desktop shortcut, or one in your start menu. After you've been using Audacity for a couple of weeks, you won't use the help file anyway. Audacity 1.4 is due out f...

Re: Temporarytopwindow

Try Audacity 1.3.4 instead - it's a much enhanced version and 1.2.x is very old now.

Re: Help files

As it says in the "ReadMe" file, Audacity 1.3.4 is distributed without the help file. However you can access it on-line, or download it from here: http://audacityteam.org/help/documentation

Re: 1.3.4 scrolling problem

"Show Clipping" is a very useful tool that will help you to precisely locate an occasional clipped peak in a recording. The clipped peak will be highlighted with a red line. However it requires a lot of system overhead, particularly if there is a lot of clipping, which is why it is switche...

Re: Equalizing a SELECTION not working

Now... about the first part of my original post: Why is there a volume glitch when I try to equalize just a section of a song? I'm not really clear what the problem is. Could you try and describe it in a bit more detail - possibly giving a step-by-step method for recreating the problem, and maybe s...

Re: How to get Audacity to work with Digi002R/core audio

Correct me if I'm wrong but Digidesign Core audio doesn't use ASIO drivers....and even if it did....licensing issues? Everyone uses ASIO...why would licensing issues cause a restriction on Audacity to use it? Digidesign uses ASIO by default on Windows (though it can also use "Wave drivers"...
