Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing
I don't think that it is essential to uninstall 1.3.5 before installing 1.3.4, but it won't do any harm to uninstall 1.3.5 first and it is probably the safest option to do so. Regarding the paste insert issue, I've just had another look at this and it seems that this feature is already implemented. ...

Re: Audacity won't work with Realtek HD Card
We have had a lot of questions about this very thing. Unfortunately there seem to be many variations in the RealTek HD drivers that make it different from one machine to another which makes it difficult (impossible) to give a definitive answer. However, most users have eventually found a way to swit...

Re: Audacity could use a facelift and why not?
You are not doing anything wrong. Support for themes was dropped a few versions ago and as far as I'm aware it has not (yet) been brought back. Perhaps in version 1.4?porl wrote:what am i doing wrong?

Re: Clipfix (see waveform pic) - plugins available?
Funny that, I was thinking of something very similar for a code structure. (this is not in any real language. Lines beginning with # are comments) # $limit is set by our "sensitivity" slider # $dif is the difference between the current sample and the next sample # we initialise $dif to zer...

Try setting the "Default Sample Rate to 96kHz if you've not got it set to that already. ("Edit > Preferences > Quality" )

Re: Complete newbie recording question
My sound input and output is set to 'Realtek 97 Audio' in audacity for playback and recording. I suspect something to do with that. You've got it in one :) I'm not able to give you a step-by-step, because the Realtek drivers are a bit different from others, and I don't have one. However, I think I ...
Re: no audio
You are not using the "digital input" (that's for spdif or similar on your sound card). You are using the USB input. Make sure that you connect the USB audio input and allow it to initialize before you start Audacity. You should then see a USB device listed in "Edit > Preferences > Au...

Re: Clipfix (see waveform pic) - plugins available?
I can see the idea of your suggestion, and I guess that it could work to some extent since with real world digital audio, consecutive samples tend to be relatively close to each other. I don't think it very likely that you will find anyone willing to spend a lot of time developing such a tool - as s...

Re: 1.2.6 and two sound cards
Well I don't run Linux...yet "yet" :D It's well worth having a look at. A good way to try it out is by booting up a "Live CD" - this will run Linux directly from the CD without the need to install anything on your computer. There is obviously a performance hit running Linux like...

Re: Recording streaming audio
In the recording selection drop-down menu, I only have three options; Rear Mic, Microphone, and Line In. There is no "Stereo Mix" or "Wave Out" option like I have read about in other help answers. You have the right idea, but are looking in the wrong place. Set Audacity to use t...
