No problem, I'm a bit busy this week too.
Perhaps you could PM me next time you post so that I don't miss it (this is quite a busy forum and posts can get buried pretty quick).

Re: Audacity won't work with Realtek HD Card
I found a computer at work that had Realtek HD on board, so I enabled it so that I could have a look. I think there are many variations of this, but here's a screenshot of the one I tried: RealTek HD Stereo Mix.GIF To access this control panel, I double clicked on the speaker icon in the lower right...

Re: Alesis Multimix8 Firewire Help
Ar home I use a Behringer MX2004A, unless I'm just messing about on this computer that has an old Realistic mixer attached to it. I do most of my recording on a Yamaha Hard disk recorder (8 channels) and then mix down on a computer. At work I use a variety of mixers, from a little Behringer Xenyx, u...

Re: Alesis Multimix8 Firewire Help
On Vista? No idea - I've switched to Linux rather than going onto Vista. Best place to check is their website - I noticed that they mention a firmware update, so it is probably worth checking that out: http://www.alesis.com/multimix8firewire plus a 1TB external hard drive that I use purely for my re...

Re: "What you hear" and stereo recording?
To record a stereo track you need to set stereo recording in preferences:
"Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" "Channels = 2 (stereo)"
I don't use iTunes myself, but from what I've heard, I thought that you could convert from MP4 to MP3 in iTunes.

Re: help - dvd music to cd
WC's method is simple and should work well, but as he suggested it is possible to "Rip" the audio from a DVD, but it is a little bit complicated to do. There are tutorials, and software available from the "Doom9" for doing this.

Re: drum machine
I didn't realise that Hydrogen had been ported to Windows, I've only seen it on Linux. But yes, on Windows you need to set the WINDOWS MIXER to record from "Stereo Mix" (may also be called "Mix", or "What U Hear", or something along those lines depending on your hardwar...

Re: fedora9 Linux install blows up
As a new user, you will probably find it much easier to install it directly from the online repository using YUM / Pirut.

Re: libvamp.lib missing on Windows build
I think this is the most up-to-date information about building from source in Windows: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... On_Windows.
Sorry I can't help further, I've only done it on Linux.

Re: need help with VST enabler
All the info is on this page: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=VST_Plug-ins Please note that even with the VST Enabler, not all VST's will work. Audacity does not support real-time effects, or VSTi. Also it does not support the graphical interfaces of VST's, it replaces them with a very ...
