Re: using audacity with voiceover

There is a blind Windows user doing lots of stuff with Audacity, and much of the information will also apply to Macs. Note that there are some inaccuracies early in the topic, but they mostly get corrected later on: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4371 There is also a user gui...

Re: Phone Line Recording in Audacity 1.2.1

Re: 5.1 Surround Sound Question

It's probably: # Two channels for speakers at the front—left (L) and right (R). # One channel for speaker at the center—center (C). # Two channels for surround speakers at the rear—surround left (LS) and surround right (RS). # One low-frequency effects channel (LFE). If music and sfx are on the same...

Re: 39 track no skip merging

I've tried what I've always done in the past by cutting and pasting on the, from the best of my efforts, 'precise end' of the track; And what is the problem? Is it that the alignment is not precise enough? If so, zoom in very close on the "join" so that you can get it totally accurate (Ct...

Re: Recording Over modulation in Audacity 1.2.1

Could you try to describe precisely what you are doing, and if possible post a screen shot. It sounds like you are massively overloading the input, but I'm not sure if that is the problem or something else.

Re: Recording Over modulation in Audacity 1.2.1

Set the record level using the Windows Mixer - double click on the speaker icon near the clock to access the Windows Mixer.

Re: Input source vanished

It's very difficult to diagnose the cause of the problem without knowing the exact error that Audacity reported. I think the most likely cause is that Audacity lost some of the data for the project. It is important not to "clean up" files or move the project or data folders until you have ...

Re: Audio recorded from cassette, any way to correct?

1) "Noise removal" effect to reduce the tape hiss - don't be too ambitious with this, it's generally better to under use this effect and have a little noise remaining than to over use it and end up with metallic bubbly artifacts in the background. 2) "Equalization" effect to bala...
