Re: bug? my fault? makearray won't work.
Nice post jan. The fancy text is done using BBC code I think jan is Czech. I believe the Czech language is similar to Slovak, and to a lesser degree to Polish. Volta is not an Audacity developer, and his original question does not specifically require the attention of Audacity developers. "make...

Re: Input source vanished
To empty the temporary directory, go to that directory, select everything in it, and press the "Delete" key. The bits that do not get uninstalled automatically are the registry entry and possibly the Audacity folder within the "Program Files" folder. Are you still getting that Er...

Re: Subtracting non-identical audio ?
I need to match the soundtrack perfectly, and thats where I had concerns about both tracks not being identical in the first place. Quite correct. If they are not identical it will not work. A nice website, but Im gonna have to stick with the T2 minigun on this one... Its by far the best gun sound e...

Re: Screechy playback after noise removal
Any ideas why I have the hum/buzzing sound in the first place. I'm recording from MIXER to AMP to LINE IN on EXTERNAL SOUNCARD to LAPTOP. You've hit the nail on the head. The first thing that you should do if you are getting hum is to try and eliminate it at source. Correcting it after recording is...

Re: Trouble recording using Windows XP
The box referred to that is "greyed out" is not uncommon, even on XP. Basically, it provides a handy shortcut for configuring the sound card, but it only works if it is supported by the sound card driver (which quite often it isn't). The solution is to select the appropriate recording inpu...

Re: Is Audacity for me?
.... if you record in stereo and at 44k you will eat up a lot more space then if you record in mono at 22K. You can put more in a smaller space. I hope this helps. :) But when you burn it as an audio CD, it must be 44.1kHz 16 bit stereo (Red book standard). Many CD burning applications will convert...

Re: Editing Tag info
When editing Tag info of an mp3, do you always have to export as mp3 ? This is a bit of a "quirk" - Audacity 1.3.4 and earlier ask for Metetag data when you export, even for formats that do not support metatag data (such as WAV's). In version 1.3.5 you can switch off the prompt for metata...

Also check "Edit > Preferences > Directories" where it says "Hold recorded data in memory...." this should not normally be selected.
