Re: Recording multiple sources at once
You will probably need to use headphones rather than speakers so as to avoid feedback, then set the Windows Mixer ( http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues ) to record "Stereo Mix" (May also be called "Mix" or "What U Hear"). The exact set-up d...

I would suggest that purchasers of this package such take maximum use of their 24 hour customer support, and tell all your friends how great Audacity is.

Re: noob question- change frequency over time?
Jan is referring to using a "Time" track. (If you posted on the board relevant to your OS and version of Audacity I could have told you how to create a new time track, but it's different in different versions). Using the "Envelope Tool" you can adjust the time track which will th...

Unfortunately not. You will need to upload it to the internet somewhere and post a link.pmac wrote:Can I attach a file here though?

Re: Playback mode hangs after recording (Ubuntu 8.04)
The current build of Audacity for Ubuntu is rather flaky. I've noticed similar problems occasionally, but if I just leave it a few moments it sorts itself out. Try experimenting with the different sound systems (OSS, ALSA and JACK) top see which works best on your machine. Getting it to work with JA...

Re: repanning-recenter stereo
Use the little black arrow on the track information box (left end of the track) to get a drop down menu. From the menu, split the stereo track. Use the drop down menu for each of these tracks and set them both to mono. Adjust the volume and pan positions of each track to suit your preference. Now Ex...
Re: Recording
Use the Windows Mixer to set your record levels: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues and keep an eye on the recording meter in Audacity - an ideal level would be making peaks up to about -3 to -6 dB. Don't try pushing it beyond -3dB because you will probably get the occ...

Re: Trouble with Audacity and my USB turntable on Vista.
The analogue output is stereo, And I presume that you mean that both channels are coming out at reasonably matched volume levels? Assuming the above is true, then the cartridge etc. are ok, so we are looking at the USB interface and the Vista sound system. BTW, are you using a Laptop or a full size...

Re: loop while recording
how do you loop a track while recording a new one? You don't, or at least you don't do it like that in Audacity. If you want an audio clip to repeat (and it can repeat continuously for the duration of the track), select the audio clip and select "Repeat" from the Effects menu. Enter the n...
