Re: Attachments

Only certain file types are permitted as attachments. .png .gif and .jpg are all OK, but I'm not sure what other file types are allowed. .mp3 and .wav are not permitted. To add an image file, click on the "Upload attachment" tab (below the message window) and use the "Browse" but...

Re: has anyone tried the new beta?

The 1.3.5 version does fix some bugs, but there is at least one new bug (which the developers are already aware of). 1.3.5 does not fix the delay with the software playthrough, nor will any new version. This delay is unavoidable with software playthrough and can only be resolved by using full duplex...

Re: Transferring music from cassettes to CD

No problem Bobby - had I read your post properly I would probably have spotted that (I read the "1/8" stereo input jack" and assumed that you had switched to your computer sound card) You may be able to "revive" the old cassette player by cleaning the capstan and pinc...

Re: multiple wav files out of sync

Screenshot.png Track 1 is a stereo track - it starts at time=0 - no problem here. Track 2 is a mono track and starts at approximately time = 0.5 seconds - PROBLEM ! At the bottom of the picture you can see what happens when we Export track 2 then import it. To Export track 2, I selected the track a...

Re: Transferring music from cassettes to CD

Your sound card may not properly support the selected sample rate. Open Audacity, go to "Edit > Preferences > Quality" and set the default format to 44100 / 16 bit. Close and restart Audacity so that the changes take effect, and try that. If you still have the same problem, try 48000 / 16 ...

Re: Audio won't play through Presonus FireBox

As said, Audacity does not (as standard) work with ASIO, so you need to ensure that your device has supported (non-asio) drivers installed. Then go to "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and select the appropriate audio device for Recording and Playback. This is a firewire device, yes? Make s...

Re: Recording issue.

Check to see what is selected as the "Recording" and "Playback" devices in "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O". Do these correspond to the audio devices that you are using?

Re: Recording

You need a "full duplex" sound card (one that can record and play back at the same time). Most conventional sound cards can do this, but it can be a problem with some USB interfaces. Assuming that you are using a conventional sound card, go to "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and...

Re: Recording multiple sources at once

Oops, as of separate channels (my post above) it is impossible in Windows XP, Not so. SBLive with KxProject drivers you can route anything to anywhere (my old XP set-up). Even the regular SB drivers are quite flexible. You missed the step where you want to equalize as you record. Oh how I love the ...

No, I meant doing a "Live Mix", but that could be another possibility if the hardware and drivers support it.
