Re: Immensely annoying problem. :(
It does indeed sound like "USB Turntable Disease". There have been many "solutions" to the problem - Use a USB hub Don't use a USB hub Change the USB cable Use a different USB socket Don't use any other USB devices at the same time Don't try recording on a Wednesday Light 3 candl...

Re: Scheduling an audio recording
NEVER trust "crash recovery".
I heard a story that a wise old man once managed to recover his data after a crash - many do not believe this story.

Re: How to CUT
Select the part of the track that you want to delete - (Left mouse click, hold the mouse button down, and drag along the track to the end, then release the left mouse button) - You will see that the selected area is highlighted. Now, fro the "Edit" menu, select "Delete". A good w...

Re: No sound during playback.....
@ cosmicintergalactic That all looks correct to me - the only thing missing from that picture is the playback device settings in Audacity "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" @ Furball Export as "16 bit 44.1 kHz Microsoft PCM WAV" format. If you need further assistance, please start ...

Re: Input of all channels from a mixer individually to Audac
I do not know for certain if audacity can record more than two channels,... Provided that the audio device (sound card) and the audio device driver support multiple inputs, then Audacity can record from multiple inputs onto separate tracks. However, Audacity can only support one recording device dr...

Re: Scheduling an audio recording
It is possible to set up Audacity to do a single scheduled recording, but
a) you need Audacity 1.3.x
and
b) It does not automatically save or Export the file - you have to do that manually, so it is not suitable for repeated scheduling.

Re: 1.3.4.0 Always crashes at approx. 10.3secs recording
1)
"at approx 10.3secs" - this sounds quite precise. Is it always between 10.2 seconds and 10.4 seconds, every time that you record?
2)
Do you have the "VST enabler" installed? If so, try uninstalling it and see if the problem still exists.

Re: cursor bug in label selection code
The cursor remains displayed in the label, but the label does not receive keyboard input anymore. Yes, it's a bit strange isn't it. It's as if the focus has been half pulled away from the label, but not completely. Perhaps it would be better if the cursor disappeared from the label as soon as the s...

Re: Does Audacity still re-encode mp3 files when saving them
but now when I want to upload that file to my blog or something like that, in order to reduce the download size, I will be forced to re-encode again to .mp3, thus decreasing the overall file quality. That's why it is so important to keep backup/master copies of your valuable work in an uncompressed...
