Re: High Frequency Tones

It seems to be the same in Audacity 1.3.4 (32 bit Linux) and 1.3.5 (Win XP). They will accept custom sample rates of 100kHz but not 100001Hz Hi Steve When you say they won't accept 100001 Hz, what happens? I can generate or record at that rate, export as WAV then import back in and it shows as 1000...

Re: Minor interface bugs (Trim and Split New)

"Laugh Out Load" Oops sorry - typing error  I have Pentium III laptop 650Mhz with 256MB (severe swapping) Oh I see, a bit more RAM would be a great benefit - my computer is 500Mhz with 512MB and it will do 8 tracks quite happily with the settings mentioned before. I also try to keep...

Re: two issues on .aup files with readonly flag

Steve, No, no, no, I do it as follows: OK, I did say that perhaps I was missing your point :) I see what you mean now. And its perhaps the best way to give to singer from my band (BTW, I have no band) so he/she can try at home, and the can hear himself together with the band. I it cheaper than to g...

Re: Speech Editing

From your description it is clear that to insert just one word in Audacity requires several manual operations which in an "insert" function would be automated. Because this is not the case in Audacity, I will have to look elsewhere for a suitable program. I would be interested to hear if ...

Re: Minor interface bugs (Trim and Split New)

I'm not criticizing, but I'm still having trouble understanding... What is "Malight"? ("Malight shifting of chunks does not affect first track....") Oh yes, and LOL="Laugh Out Load" This was an exaggeration, I did not actually laugh out loud, but I did "chuckle&quo...

Re: Change voice freq. without changing rec. length

The easy way - Use the "Pitch Scaler" LADSPA plug-in from here http://plugin.org.uk/

For more info about why there is a problem, check out the Ubuntu forum

Re: two issues on .aup files with readonly flag

I think I am missing the point: I have a read only text file, I open it in my text editor and try to save it - it doesn't work. I make a copy of the file and make it read/write - now I can edit it. What is it that is different in Audacity? BTW. I don't think that anyone ever recommends saving audaci...

Re: 1.3.4.0 Always crashes at approx. 10.3secs recording

I presume you mean the "audio buffer" setting (not latency correction) jan. Either way, 2000 is way higher than should be needed. If the audio buffers need pushing that high it would indicate a fairly major problem somewhere else. Let's wait and see what the problem looks like before we ju...

Re: Minor interface bugs (Trim and Split New)

my latency setting was 500ms, the shift was about 4,5 (or 5,5) (seemed to be not exact but I do not care) changed latency to 2000ms, the shitf is 2s. LOL, you are just trying to break it aren't you :D Shifting does not affect first track (recorded - Audacity decided not to do latency correction) Sh...
