I think it's probably Ron's first time on a forum, so he's having to find out how to use them as he goes along.
The other post that you replied to was probably Ron's "re-post" after I explained that he was in the wrong part of the forum.

Re: How to CUT

Try this tutorial, it starts at the beginning (a very good place to start :) ) and even has video clips to demonstrate the steps. http://www.edhsonline.org/other/audacity/index.html

If you fancy having a play with Linux, there is a guide to scheduling recordings with mplayer here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Schedule-Streaming-Audio-Recordings-in-Ubuntu/ (Linux can be run in a virtual machine, or a dual boot setup if you want to keep Windows). For Windows, therre are severa...

Re: Recording Problem

You can certainly try Audacity 1.3.5 beta - it's OK to have both on your machine at the same time (but you can not run them simultaneously).

You have checked that your audio device is correctly enabled in the Windows control panel haven't you.

Re: Can't Record Voice

Yippee :D The important thing is that you now have it working. It is indeed possible that your soundcard has a combined Line in / Mic in socket. It's a little curious regarding the sound card as the description and model number do not match - The "Creative - 70SB057000000" is a "Sound...

Re: Cannot hear sound when recording

No problem Ron. There are no "customer service reps" here - Audacity is free software, built, maintained and developed as a community project, and there are folks here willing to assist. However, you need to post on the right part of the forum so that the right people find your question. H...

Re: Tracks not lining up, when recorded in time with each ot

If the tracks are out of sync by exactly the same amount throughout the track. then it is probably a latency issue, in which case you should use Audacity 1.3.x and adjust the latency compensation to eliminate the problem. However, from your wording, I suspect that the tracks are gradually drifting a...

Re: Soften Harsher Sounds

The best way is to use a suitable microphone and try various positions in relation to the person talking. Reasonable quality dynamic microphones will tend to have a warmer, less hissy sound than cheap computer microphones. It is much much much better to start with a good recording than to try and co...

That is not a "Forum Issue" - please look to the board that is relevant to your version of Audacity and your operating system.
