Re: Input clipping with Dell and Vista
First check the Windows Mixer settings - it should be possible to adjust the record levels there. You could also consider getting the appropriate leads to connect the "Main Out" or "Control Room Out" of your mixer to the "Line In" of your computer as you can adjust the ...

Re: How do I connect speakers & microphone to PC? Total New
Your microphone is a "dynamic mic". Although general purpose sound cards are designed to use a different kind of microphone (electret microphone), it should still work ok. The pink socket is the correct one, although you will probably find that the sound quality is not particularly brillia...

Re: Even out volume of voices
Or do I have to do it selectively. And if selectivly, how? As koz said, doing it selectively is the best way. A little "trick" that works for some kinds of material: Lets say that you have a recording of two people having a conversation, and person A is recorded a lot louder than person B...

Re: Clicktrack.ny measures length problem audacity 1.3.5

Disclaimer: Old tapes can become quite fragile and the stre...
Re: Warbling
Could you upload a small audio clip in WAV format somewhere on the internet and post a link to it so that we can see what you mean (the forum software does not support audio files as attachments).

Re: Question about pan and volume controls
"Edit > Preferences > Interface" Check that "Automatically fit tracks vertically zoomed" is NOT selected. Use the mouse pointer to grab the bottom edge of the track and you can resize the trck by dragging it up and down. You can also "collapse" and "un-collapse&quo...

Re: Audacity stopped working
It can probably be fixed by clearing out the registry entries for Audacity (ask if you want further details for this) but it would be a lot easier to give Audacity 1.3 a go (Audacity 1.3 does not use the Windows registry).
