Re: 5.1 Surround Sound Question

Sorry, I have absolutely no idea - and it does not run on my computer (Linux). Are there no instructions for it? Also, it may not work with Audacity, you may need to use an alternative "host" program such as "Reaper" http://www.cockos.com/reaper/ I still think that your best bet ...

Re: Audacity HANGS in XP after 1 successful export session

maybe I should have also run a CCLEANER for the Registry hold-overs? No need for that as Audacity 1.3.x does no use the registry. However it does use a configuration file, which by default is: Documents and Settings <user name> Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg In fact the quickest way to do a r...

Re: Soften Harsher Sounds

....a rather dull and boring thread... Not at all, it has been most interesting. In fact, I am hoping that you will allow me to use a recording of your voice for testing purposes. Partly inspired by this thread, and the fact that there seems to be no "de-esser" currently available for Aud...

Re: RealTek + Audacity Problems.

3.) No. That is not true. The microphone input reader actually responds to sounds coming from the computer, such as a music/video file. Even a game. My voice has no effect on the input level. Re: 5.1 Surround Sound Question

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Well, yes I promise. I want it only for my own personal amusement. I will not share it with the internet or anything else like that. I promise. And I will not tell anyone. You may have some luck with this effect, (though I have doubts as to how well it will work):...

Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing

Congratulations maurimol, I'm very impressed with both your efforts and the work of the Audacity developers who have succeeded in making an audio editor that really is accessible for blind users. I had doubts at first about how usable the program would be, but that is fantastic. I've no idea what th...

It's not exactly what you are asking about, but you may be interested in looking at "Nyquist Programming".

Re: A couple questions.

What settings do I need to achieve an intimate and polished sound It's not just settings. You need good quality equipment (microphones, amplifier, monitor speakers, instruments, a good recording and mixing room.....) and several years of study and experience. Practice, do lots of reading, and you w...
