Re: Opening The Same Project
what are all the errors/problems that could happen when having the same project open in different windows Audacity can lock up. It can disappear off the screen (minimize) and refuse to restore/maximize. Portions of data can get mixed up so that parts of one file end up in the other. Portions of dat...

Re: Opening The Same Project
I'm wondering if having the same project open in different windows was the cause of this. Quite possibly. You should only have one instance of Audacity open at one time. Sometimes you will "get away with" having two or more instances, but that is just down to luck and should be avoided. A...

Re: RMS Normalization
I'm a programmer. That's handy. Audacity has the ability to run Nyquist scripts. Nyquist is a programming language based on Lisp and is relatively easy to use. With Nyquist, you can create your own normalization functions. Have a look at this page (scroll down about 30 lines) http://www-2.cs.cmu.ed...

Re: Audacity for gOS operating system
Congratulations on your new acquisition. I believe that gOS is a version of Ubuntu, in which case it will have a "package manager". In Ubuntu, this is called "Synaptic" and is found in the "System" menu. Open the package manager - it should prompt you for your password ...

Re: Recording sounds fine until exported...
Audacity has an Equalizer built in, so you should not need to go through an external one. Probably the main reason for the lack of response to your question, is that nobody knows the answer. If you play an audio file in Audacity, it will sound exactly the same as playing that same audio file in any ...

Re: Distortion
G'Day Mate :D Are you "Recording" this music, or "Importing" it? If you are recording it, then you probably have the recording level too high. To change the recording level, open the "Windows Mixer" (loudspeaker icon near the clock in the bottom right of your screen), f...

Re: Perhaps you can help me (program crash/effects)
How much hard drive space do you have? Depending on what you are doing, Audacity can use a huge amount of disk space for temporary files. By default Audacity stores temporary files on the C: drive Look in "Edit > Preferences > Directories" for the exact location. Also, on the same page, ch...

Re: Take audio from two different sources
Download from here: http://audacityteam.org/ I prefer the beta version, but you may find a few bugs in it, otherwise go for version 1.2.6 Comprehensive instructions and tutorials are available at the same place. Audacity will not help you extract the audio files from the video, or to put them back i...
