Re: Cannot insert audio in right channel on a stereo track
In Audacity "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" set the Recording default channels to "1 (mono)" When you record your vocals, they will now just be on one mono track. Generate your click track (one mono track) Use the pan slider on each track to set one track to the left and the oth...

Re: Preamp microphone or a plug and play
What sort of music/vocals are you recording? What is your budget? What sort of sound card do you have? Do you want to use the microphone for anything else other than recording vocals onto your computer? Windows or Mac? Desktop or Laptop? How have you recorded the rest of the music? Any other informa...
Re: no sound
and found that i can only play windows if my ion usb is not plugged in. That's a common problem - the USB audio device in the ION TT takes over the Windows sound system for recording AND playback (even though the ON TT is not a playback device. The correct fix for this is to go into the Windows Con...

Re: uploading from minidisc
The BIG difference between the ION TT and the minidisk is that the minidisk is going throughyour sound card, the ION TT does not. The ION TT has its own "sound card" built in and just sends digital data into your computer via USB. In order to record the minidisk through your sound card, di...

Re: Changing the Hz when recording spoken audio via micropho
Because of which part of the forum you have posted on, we have no idea which version of Audacity you are using or what your operating system is. After changing the default sample rate, are you restarting Audacity?

Re: Using multiple mics
I've found JACK to be fantastic when using Linux, but Audacity doesn't support it. Audacity is working perfectly with Jack on my machine (Xubuntu 8.04) until I try to run another audio application at the same time - then it crashes horribly. I generally use Audacity with Jack because the performanc...

Re: Soften Harsher Sounds
Progress report. I've done some initial experimentation using nyquist for de-essing. So far I have been running multiple passes with different scripts which has just been to test my basic algorithm. I've still got the hard work of programming it all into one script and designing a usable, versatile ...
