Re: turntable record vol level way low
So you are recording from your turntable, through your home stereo, into the Sound Blaster Line input? Have you checked the Sound Blaster Mixer Recording level settings? (look for the icon near the system clock). Note that Record settings and Playback settings in the mixer are completely different -...

Re: Audacity don't recording cassettes anymore
In case something in your Audacity preferences has become corrupted, you can reset the preferences by the procedure here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Audacity_Preferences#Where_are_Preferences_stored.3F_2 If that does not work, then it may be that a Vista update has messed something...

Re: monitoring while recording.
Need to know your operating system and what you are recording from - if using a microphone, is it USB, or plugged into your sound card. Too much information is better than not enough.

Re: Plugin template
Audacity is probably not the best development platform for VST as VST support in Audacity is rather poor. LADSPA plug-ins are also widely supported by many audio programs, particularly on Linux, and being open source, support and documentation are freely available. Foe VST you should really be looki...

Re: Blind user asks for help with tracks' editing
There is an effect called "Noise Removal", although it would be more appropriately called "Noise Reduction". It is designed to reduce constant background noise in a recording, such as the background hiss from a tape recorder. It can work to some extent on other kinds of sounds, w...

Re: Connect a microphone directly to spekers(used in compute
No you don't need any software other than an operating system, sound card driver and sound card mixer application (for example the Windows Mixer). If your sound card is an on-board Sigma-Tel or RealTek HD, then you may have a bit of difficulty because of the Mixer applications that these use. Also W...

Re: Recording in a Classroom
I mentioned the Senheizer mics because they do kick out a pretty hefty signal, perhaps not quite line level, but enough to get a decent signal in a line input. They are also among the most "trustworthy" for getting a reliable signal, but in the UK you are looking at around £400 (about $800...

Re: Recording in a Classroom
There are plenty of wireless microphones available, but good ones don't come cheap. http://www.google.co.uk/products?q=%09SENNHEISER+Wireless+Microphone+&btnG=Search+Products&show=dd The microphone receiver still has to be pugged into the Line-in, but the microphone is wireless. If you also ...

Hi AndrewTheArt, Your Script seems to be attracting some attention at the moment, but unfortunately does not seem to be available. If you would like somewhere to upload it, PM me and I'll sort a bit of web space out for you. Re. integrating with Audacity - I've been looking into Nyquist plug-ins rec...

Re: Which is more professional in a dubbing of a documentary
Another method is to start off the original voice at normal level, then fade it down to a low level as the voice-over translation begins.
