Re: Recorded audio starts before zero

@ GaleAndrews - Could I ask for a little clarification here. In Audacity 1.2.6, latency correction is calculated rather than just using a default value? Is this calculated value stored anywhere (in the registry?) or is it calculated each time Audacity starts? Re. latency correction in Audacity 1.3.4...

Re: Downgrade howto?

I think you need the libasound2-dev Check this page where the dependencies are listed (page is unavailable just at the moment, but I expect it will be back up in a short while) http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/audacity I don't think that I did anything special to install the Windows version (Auda...

Re: What appears to be "clipping"

Oh that's weird. And that's immediately after recording?
What are you recording, and how are you recording it?

Could you post a close-up (zoom in) of the clipped waveform.

Re: Downgrade howto?

Can we please clarify something though? You installed the Intrepid package in 8.04, is that correct? That's right. OK, so Intrepid is classed as alpha software and I'm running it on the wrong version, but it's been running fine all day. The only bugs that I've found so far is that JACK audio does n...

Re: "theft" of audio output by Audacity on Mac

I've never heard of this problem either. It may be useful to know what kind of Mac this is. [EDIT] Looks like it is an Intel Mac with OS X 10.5.3. but the experience I described above (and which I have also read about various Audacity sites) Could you post some links - perhaps it is the way that you...

Re: Delete sound under -40 db

As I read the posting, the author recorded a show in a noisy room and wants the room noise to vanish when anyone loud stops talking. Yes, I was also unsure about what exactly he was asking, but from "Delete sound under -40 db" I took it to mean "Delete" rather than "Mute&qu...

Re: Downgrade howto?

I've done a bit more testing and found what appears to be a bug. Select some audio and select an effect from the effects menu. Click on "Preview" and the effect is previewed After the preview has finished, Click on "Cancel" and Audacity freezes. This only happens when choosing &q...

Re: Recorded audio starts before zero

Try uninstalling Audacity, then deleting the Audacity registry entries at HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareAudacity then reinstall Audacity.

Alternatively try Audacity 1.3.5 (this version does not use the registry).

If you are not confident about editing the registry, use the second method.

Re: Downgrade howto?

HOT NEWS The "Intrepid" version )Audacity 1.3.5) is now available from here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/intrepid/audacity and the missing effects are now available (Change Tempo, Change Pitch). I've only just installed it so I don't know how stable it is, but so far it seems to be working...

Re: Effect Menu items greyed out

Can't you just turn the level down on either the mixer or the FTP?
