Re: Effects GUI

What puzzles me is the graphic interface of the effects .ExampIe: I imported SIR VST convolution plugin, but its interface on Audacity is completely different from usual and I can't use it. It seems that all effects have the same graphic interface in Audacity. VST support is not built into Audacity...

Re: Perfectly mix a sung/rap vocal

so far and I've always had a special routine when it came to mixing vocals (1.noise reduction, 2. normalizing, 3. dynamics processing etc).. Now I wondered whether there is a recommended basic way of mixing vocals on Audacity. If this is the method you like, there's no need to change it just becaus...

Re: MP3 files truncated

Make sure that you use "Export" and not "Export Selection". If you do use "Export Selection, zoom out so that you can see all of the selection that you want to export, so as to be sure that you have the whole thing selected. Also, which version of Lame are you using? If you ...

Re: Audacity HANGS in XP after 1 successful export session

if I *do* experieince the HANG, I must delete all of AUDACITY directories and reinstall it. I've not read all of this thread, so apologies if I'm repeating something that's already been said (it's rather a long thread), but you may be able to achieve the same fix by just deleting the configuration ...

Use the cursor keys on their own. This will move the cursor position slowly, but will also deselect the selection, but as you know, to select from the cursor position to the end of the file is just a matter of pressing SHIFT + END.

No you're not. With a USB headset you bypass the sound card. If there is a control panel for the headset, you may be able to make the adjustments, bu I guess this headset is designed for Skype or some similar application, and may not allow you to do that.

Re: Recording and Playback Pitch

The main difference that I can see between the way that Reaper and Audacity record, is that Reaper uses ASIO which Audacity does not. Audacity can not ship with ASIO support built in due to licensing restrictions. (Reaper is not open source and so subject to different rules). The Alisis io/2 is prim...
