Re: Fails to exit on X
I would never expect Audacity to exit when I only close a file. In most situations it is a big advantage to close Audacity in between sessions. Re: Monitoring while recording? How?

Re: Perfectly mix a sung/rap vocal
1. noise reduction by 0.2 - I guess this translates into "audacity language" as "noise removal" but by how many dB? That depends very much on the type, and severity of the noise - noise removal is a destructive process and causes unpleasant artefacts if used too much, so you nee...

Also Ctrl+Shift+Z will redo the cut if you change your mind again.

Re: Safely split sound card analog out.....?
Question -Isn't a balanced signal at a higher voltage than an unbalanced RCA jack is rated for? Not necessarily. There are different "standards" used for "Line level". Generally, -10 dBV is used for domestic equipment, and +4 dBu is used for professional equipment (note the diff...

Re: audacity not seeing digi design 003
It looks like Digidesign also offers MME drivers, which should work. It is not as straightforward as it may at first appear. In order for it to work, the 003 has to be aware that a program is trying to access it so that it can switch to "Working" mode. This appears to be done via Direct X...
