Re: 3 bugs i see on the beta 1.3.5 version.
i have noticed that sometimes when you press preview it doesnt really preview what the song will sound like after you equalize it. I have a problem with "Preview" of effects in Audacity 1.3.5 in Ubuntu. The Preview works fine, but if the effect is then cancelled, Audacity will lock up. Th...
Re: MP3
Not sure from your post if you are doing this or not, but you should always work from uncompressed audio files if possible - When you export the MP3 files, you should be doing this from the original project, not by opening the Ogg file then exporting as MP3. Try exporting at a higher bit rate (highe...

Re: Poor Sound Quality & clicking noises with XP64 edition
"Distortion" is likely to be caused by too high a recording level - apparently most ION TT's have an output volume level knob on the bottom of the unit. "Clicks" are likely to be caused by audio "drop-out" due to the data not getting from the turntable to the hard drive...

Are you using the same audio hardware for both recording and playback?

Re: Playback meters active but no sound; OpenSuSE 11.
Make sure that you have ALSA installed - this is usually a lot more efficient than the older OSS sound system. As in Windows you have the Windows Mixer, in Linux there is the ALSA mixer that allows you to set up all of the inputs and outputs of your sound card. Unfortunately, most sound card manufac...

Re: Hows does a USB Mixer work?
Usually a USB mixer is just an analogue (conventional) mixing desk, with Analogue to Digital converters built in, and a USB interface added so that the digital data can be sent to your computer. Some USB mixers have just a stereo A/D converter allowing you to transfer the main stereo mix to the comp...

Re: Tips on recording a personal journal/diary
if I want to set up some sort of surveillance system? Would audacity be suited for the initial recording or should I use another program to record I've not tried it myself, but there have been some reports of problems with very long recordings in Audacity (greater than 12 hours). There was one user...

Re: Changing MP3 to lame MP3
Does anyone know of another, faster mp3 encoder than LAME that Audacity can use? I'm trying to drop my post-recording export time of a 70-80 minute session to something much less than the 30 minutes that LAME would take. I know Cool Edit uses Fraunhoffer encoding and takes only a few minutes to exp...
