Re: Error while opening sound device.

Is the Echo Mia a Firewire device?

What is its default sample rate and bit depth?
Set those values in "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O"

Re: Save Problem Results in Weirder Problem

and when the fog of computer error messages finally cleared I saw Audacity had gone away and I came to the stunning realization that I'm in fact not Superman. OK, you've given me a laugh, so let's look at the question... So I go to reopen Audacity and get Supermad when I see that my project didn't ...

Re: How to achieve that clear-crisp radio FM sound!

Is there a way i can increase volume on my mp3s using audacity? My itrip doesnt play my ipod in the car loud enough. I'm guessing this isn't Classical music. Google for "LADSPA Fast Lookahead Limiter" - you can compress the heck out of your music with that, then Normalize to -0.1dB, then ...

Re: Problem with USB Audio I/O

I am trying to use Audacity 1.3.4-beta So why are you posting on the "Audacity Stable (1.2.x)" board? Check that Linux recognises that the QuickCam Deluxe is connected - if you use a GUI for AlsaMixer, then it may show the QuickCam Deluxe as a selectable device, though it may not have any...

Re: I can't record!

I don't know what's going on. I unmuted everything in alsamixer (I do use a GUI for that). Your AlsaMixer GUI is probably just showing the inputs and outputs for (hw:0,0) (your sound card). The M-Audio USB is a different device (hw:1,0). Can you record through the sound card? It may be worth trying...

This board is for forum issues- issues about the forum (there's a clue in the title).
If in doubt, read the "ReadMe" at the top of the board: http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=32

Re: Recording problem (Audacity seems to break)

The ".au" files are NOT audio files - they are audacity data files. If you mess with these files, your project will break. Make sure that you have plenty of free hard drive space - if recording at 16 bit 44.1 kHz, you need an absolute minimum of 15GB + 10% of your hard disk, free space (fo...

Re: No Playback

This board is for " Audacity Stable (1.2.x) ‹ GNU/Linux and Unix-like" (close but no cigar) :D There's a problem with Audacity 1.3.4 in Ubuntu - it tries to use JACK, but doesn't quite do it without a lot of fiddling about. Uninstall Audacity (with Synaptic) then follow the links on this p...
