Re: Help With Drop Down List

You select your sound card in "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" This is also where you select whether to record 1 (mono) track or 2 (stereo) tracks. The actual recording source (Microphone, Line-in, Stereo Mix, etc.) are selected using the Windows Mixer. (loudpeaker icon near the clock, bot...

Re: Deleting AUDIO

Can you delete the audio from the song, and have just the vocals the same without playing to any music, if you understand that! "Voice Isolation". Until recently this was flat impossible. There are now a couple of products that claim to be able to do this, but I've not tried them, so I ca...

Re: Noise reduction for hiss - is there a solution?

I record in Audacity with the Samson mic and get considerable background hiss on all my recordings. That shouldn't happen, and is the root of the problem. The Noise removal effect can cope well with low level hiss, but high level background noise will always leave some sort of unpleasantness. How l...

Re: Delete sync 2 tracks?

Select the bit that you want to delete on one track,
then use the up or down cursor key to move focus to the other track,
then press the ENTER key to select,
then press the del key (or Ctrl+K) to delete.

Re: audio card

If you are using a computer microphone plugged into the microphone socket, the sound quality is unlikely to be very good. A better microphone plugged into a mixing desk (mixing console) or microphone pre amp, and then plugged into the "Line in" socket will be much better.

Re: Soundcard Recomendations

I use a Behringer mixing desk plugged into a Behringer UCA 202. There are many alternative solutions, but I find this set up very versatile and cost effective.

Re: Exporting

Is this just a very short silence? (about 25 milliseconds?) If so, then you can't do anything about it - it is a limitation of the mp3 format. This is why Adobe Audition uses ".cel" files - it is a proprietary modification of the mp3 format that avoids this limitation. WAV, FLAC, and Ogg d...

Re: Copyright of Audacity Screen prints

May I include a link of where to download the software? Certainly. May I include a screen print of the product indicating what should be set to produce the musical product? I would think so. Any ideas on where to go with this one? Is all of Audacity in the public domain and therefore available for ...
