Re: Problems editing wav files
Try checking your CD writer. Does it write data CDs OK? If you "Rip" one of the CD's, are there errors?

Re: Certain Keys fail to work in Labels
There does seem to be a minor issue here.

Re: Input selector greyed out
Go to "Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O" and try setting the Record and Playback devices there.

Re: Getting tempo info.
Hi Steve, how do I know the number of beats from a song with several instruments? I tried you calculations but it brought me results as 450 bpm, but the sound looks like 90 bpm. :0) You need to count the main "pulse" of the music. For example, with a Waltz you would count: 1,2,3, 4,5,6, 7...

Re: Cleaning up vinyl rips
You could try this notch filter for dealing with the 50Hz hum: http://easyspacepro.com/audacity/plugins/MainsHumRemoval.ny I made it for Audacity 1.3.x, but it will probably also work in 1.2 Simply download the file, save it as MainsHumRemoval.ny and put it in the Audacity plug-ins folder. It shoul...

Re: letter "z" doesn't work in label track
I sometimes have the same problem in Audacity 1.3.5 in Linux. The affected letters are j,k and z The workaround is to hold down the "Alt" key while typing those letters (when the problem occurs). This problem is not entirely consistent - sometimes the letters j and k work, and sometimes th...

Re: Getting tempo info.
The only way that I've found is to count the beats for a few bars, select the area, and look at the length in the selection toolbar (tick the "length" check-box), then the BPM = (number of beats/time in seconds) x 60 Personally I would find it very useful if the timeline could be configure...

Re: Newbie Plug-In Help
I hope this post is in the right place, Audacity 1.2.6 - Windows - yep, looks like the right place :) I found some plugins on a website with the .ny .ny extension - that's the extension for "Nyquist Plug-ins" Do you remember the website that you downloaded them from? Perhaps it was here? ...

Re: Audacity JACK support?
I don't see JACK as an option for input/outputs and this is in a version I compiled with JACK support (1.3.5) and links against libjack so I dunno what is going on. I had the same problem with 1.3.5 - and no, I dunno what's going on either. (It worked as described in the linked post with 1.3.4, but...
