Re: Application error crashes in Vista
How much free drive space do you have? Windows machines should have 10% free drive space at all times and audio at 44100 Hz 16 bit uses around 10 MB per minute. A 60 minute recording will use 600 MB, and if you apply any process to it, (such as amplifying, Equalization, etc.) then it will require an...

Re: automatic volume controls
Wouldn't it be easier just to adjust the volume on the radio each time you have a tea break? (or whoever is on duty at the particular time of day).

Re: extra blank space/time at the end of an audio track
Try using Ctrl+A to select all, then mix down the tracks to a single mono/stereo track. Check the length of this track - trim off any unwanted silence at the end - the Exported audio should be the same as this track. Exporting as MP3 will insert a brief silence at the beginning of the track due to a...

Re: Noise Removal Follies
For cleaning records, (vinyl or shellac) I do them in the kitchen sink. I bit of washing up liquid on a piece of velvet (a remnant from a dress maker) and warm water. Give them all a wash and place them in the dish rack - then change the water and rinse thoroughly - finally rinse off with car batter...

Re: LAME encoder properties
I'm saying that there is a know issue with Audacity 1.3.5 where Audacity has trouble passing the selected parameters to Lame. I'm almost sure that I've successfully exported VBR with Audacity 1.3.5, but when I checked it recently, I was indeed getting 128 kbps CBR. Here's where the info came from: h...

Re: No sound when coming through mixer
I've tried to change the sample rate to see, but I can't remember what it's supposed to be originally It's most likely 44100 or 48000 At fiirst when I pressed record it said can't find device. That's fairly self explanatory. But now when I have the record input set to "USB CODEC" it just ...
