Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
Make sure that the device is plugged into your computer and recognised by Windows before you open Audacity. Open Audacity and click "Help > Audio Device Info..." Look and find the USB audio device and see what sample rates it supports and how many inputs. Go to "Edit > Preferences > A...

Re: Moving multiple tracks
Select one track (lets say the top one) Then use a cursor key (in this case the "down" key) to move focus to the next track Press the ENTER key to select this track Repeat using cursor key followed by ENTER to select (or de-selct) tracks. Press F6 key for the Time Shift tool, and drag. (Pr...

Re: how can I create screenshot
You say it's difficult to press only ONE button and after that paste it in paint? Do you think it's coincidence that propolis should ask a question like this, and then be impressed with the reply from his "uncle gena" (who has only ever made the one post) which advertises an $18.50 sharew...

Re: Can neither record nor playback: Audacity 1.3.5 beta
Hi test1 (come on now, I can't call you that :) ) Unfortunately we have a marked lack of Linux expertise on this forum - I seem to be the only regular poster that uses Linux, and I'm pretty new to it myself (Xubuntu). When I examine the Audio Device Info in Help, I see: ........ ........ That's good...

Re: Audacity temp files
Crash recovery is notoriously difficult - it's like trying o reassemble thousands of tiny fragments from a shattered mirror. However if you want to have a go, see here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... shRecovery

Re: cannot record
Yes, I'm sure that all the hundreds of thousands of people that use Audacity every day are all wrong. If you want some help, chill out a bit - I understand that it can be very frustrating when you are banging your head on the proverbial brick wall trying to get something to work, but this forum is a...

Re: Reproducible abort of 1.3.4 under Kubuntu 8.04
Yep, the 'buntu build is buggy :( I'm currently using the ubuntu ibex release version (which is Audacity 1.3.5) - there's still a few bugs in it, but it's mostly stable apart from one particular bug: When using an effect, if you choose to use "Preview" of the effect, do not then cancel the...

Re: Can't listen and record in mono!
Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate. Oh yes, a well known and much feared error message :) Seriously though, this means that Audacity cannot communicate with the selected audio device driver with the selected audio options. I've often come across this when trying to u...
