Re: Audacity temp files
That's not a bug, that's a miracle :) As I said, crash recovery is notoriously difficult, so it's great that you managed to get something back. My guess is the double speed thing is that it recovered half the data (one channel of a stereo recording) but knowing that it should be stereo , split the d...

Re: USB Di Box compatible with Audacity?
That other post is still an on-going issue as well
So what's the situation now - please give as much info as may be relevant - too much information is better than not enough, so start with a description of your hardware, operating system, what you've tried so far....

Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
Try disconnecting all USB devices, and shut down the computer. Connect your microphone to the computer and reboot. Open Audacity and see if you can get it to record from the microphone - (do you know your way round the Windows Mixer?) Look up the "Device Info" again from the Audacity help ...

Re: how can I create screenshot
what do you mean? I don't know nobody "uncle gena".... OK, so it was just coincidence that uncle gena registered just an hour after you and answered a question that has nothing to do with Audacity but provided you with an obscure piece of software (21 downloads from Cnet is not exactly ma...

Re: Recording meters
I can get them half screen width for playback, and half for record, but that's a far as the will go. However, I've just answered my own question - in 1.3.5 there is the option to display in "dB" or "linear" (selected by right click on the meter), so that satisfies my needs. Thank...

Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
Thanks Microsoft - but it's not working is it.
Let's see if we can get something to work.
Do you have an ordinary computer microphone, or anything else that you can use for a test recording (such as a walkman and a suitable lead)?
By the way, is this a Laptop computer?

Recording meters
So it doesn't look like we're going to get a full screen width recording meter any time soon, so how about a log scale option on the meters, then it will at least be possible to watch those important top 6dB more closely.

Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
I see... there's a bit of a problem here. For some reason, none of your inputs show any supported rates. Are you able to record from any input with any software? For example, can you record from the Realtek (on-board?) sound card with Windows Sound Recorder? What's the "Device name: MME: Speake...

Re: Annoying mic problem
This may be a mic problem, or a speaker problem, or a computer setup problem; It's likely to be a simple computer set-up problem. Open the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock) and have a real good look around it - there are recording levels, and playback levels, and advanced options in t...
