Re: Delay when starting playback
Is it a packaged version that you are using, or one that you have built from source? There's information in the wiki (link at top of the page) about building from source. Since Audacity 1.3.x is beta software, and Portaudio has been upgraded recently, there seems to be quite a few problems with pack...

Re: Recording meters
Ah yes - got it. Thanks WC (Resizing and positioning toolbars has always been a bit fiddly on my machine - I don't know if it's just my machine, or whether it is always a bit fiddly, but good to know it works). EDIT: Just noticed - it seems that it can only be done while the meter toolbar is floatin...

Re: Moving multiple tracks
You may need to upgrade to Audacity 1.3.x
then all the highlighted regions will move together.
Note that in Audacity 1.3.x you can have several audio clips in the same track.

Re: Audacity temp files
Or a box of CDR's I've recently bought an 8 GB USB memory stick which was quite cheap - handy for keeping temporary backups with smaller projects. You need to be a bit careful backing up projects onto external devices - if path names change, then the .aup project file can loose track of the data fra...

Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
You didn't say if you were able to record with the Turntable in set-up 2. From the look of the print out, I'd say that turntable recording would not have worked - there's no mention of the turntable in the device info. Could you check that. _______________________________________ To save time, I'll ...

Make sure that you've not got an anti-virus scan kicking in, and temporarily disable all power saving, screen savers, and such like.

Re: Multitracking Pobs. w/ Audacity Alesis Mutimix 8 USB
the the sound coming from the computer to USB interface is extremely choppy, in rapid intervals, (the signal sounds as if the computer cant processes it fast enough something, That is probably the case. Audacity is probably just on the wrong side of being fine. but I have successfully used other au...

Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
Did you unplug the USB devices? I mean, unplug them from the computer and leave them out? I'm wondering why the RockFrog is still listed. As for the USB turntable - that's been plugged in all along Really? That's hardly fair on the poor old RockFrog drivers - the chance of getting some sort of confl...

Do you still get the "Unable to open Portmixer" error with "Alsa default"?
