Re: Input device settings/project sample rate??
Is this a good time to mention I'm using Vista? :? With audio software, it's never a good time to say you're using Vista :D <<< 5) Tick the box that says "use selected devices only" (or something like that) >>> There isn't such a box I'm afraid. I'm guessing this is because I'm on ...

Re: Can neither record nor playback: Audacity 1.3.5 beta
Portmixer is as far as I know part of Portaudio. The version of Portaudio should be at least v.19. Beyond that, I've no idea. Yes, Audacity is very popular on Linux, but unfortunately Linux is not the main development platform. The Audacity team do not even release binary builds of Audacity, just th...

Re: What's that loud hum & hiss?
You may have some sort of feedback going on.
If you are using Windows, check the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock) there is probably something un-muted that should be muted.

Re: Recording time limits
Yes, I read that as well, and it was confirmed by one of the developers, but there have been a few posts to the contrary - all on 32 bit machines. One poster switched to a 64 bit machine with a 64 bit OS and the problem went away, so perhaps it's not a limit in Audacity as such, but a limit imposed ...

Re: Noob question - 16 bet depth recording opened in 32 bit
I usually edit in 32 bit, the export as 16 bit - no problem there. Audacity works internally at 32 bit float, and there are some slight advantages in running your project in 32 bit as long as your hardware is happy with that. If I recall correctly, in Audacity 1.2.x, when you export your audio at th...

Re: Help With Compression Effects
The standard compressor in Audacity can not be set with a fast enough attack for what you want - try the LADSPA SC4 compressor and set the attack to minimum. Beefing up drum sounds usually involves compression, limiting, gating and EQ. There is also a LADSPA "fast lookahead limiter" plug-i...

Re: No vst effects working
Support for VST effects is very limited, so I always recommend using LADSPA and Nyquist effects instead which are much better supported. There are a huge number of free LADSPA and Nyquist affects available from links on the main Audacity web site. For more information about using VST effects with Au...

Re: how can I create screenshot
What I mean, is that you can't go round distributing licensed software without authorisation from the license owner unless it is specifically stated in the license agreement (EULA) that you may do so. Your original posts suggest that you are not associated with the screenshot product, in which case ...
